BACE buys local

How does ‘Buy local’ work?

By spending money in our local community, we are supporting our local economy, keeping small businesses open and keeping local jobs thriving. It may be something that you don’t often think about, but the next time you buy your groceries, spend a moment thinking about where this produce comes from. If you’re planning a holiday or attending an event, take a moment to see where your tourism dollars will end up. Are you purchasing from an international organisation, in which case money ends up overseas, or are you supporting a local event, which is supporting a community, such as the Bribie Classic Boat Regatta organised by locals for our community? If you are in business, there is so much we can do to support our local communiteis. For example, by being mindful of where our hard-working dollars end up, means we are being more conscious about our financial sustainability. Keeping our economic linkages short, and spending money at home, means that people living locally can directly benefit from your spending. BACE supports this initiatve from the Moreton Bay local government and is also ‘backing local’ by spending money in our community, and engaging local people and local skill to support the Bribie Classic Boat Regatta.
